2024 고양국제꽃박람회
2024년 4월26일 오프닝을 시작으로 17일 동안의 고양국제꽃박람회가 시작됐습니다. 이번 고양국제꽃박람회는 코로나로 인한 제한조치가 끝난뒤 다시 정상 운영되는 고양국제꽃박람회로 관계자들의 기대와 준비 속에서 고양꽃전시장과 일산호수공원 일원에서 열렸습니다. 주최측에서는 야외 화훼전시, 실내화예전시, 고양플라워그랑프리, 국제꽃어워드쇼, 고양국제꽃포럼, 공연 및 이벤트, 고양플라워마켓을 주요행사로 내세우고 있습니다.
아쉽게도 본지 기자는 모든 곳을 방문하지 않았지만, 이번 박람회의 인상적인 장소가 두 곳 있었습니다.
이번 전시는 고양꽃전시관과 한울광장을 기준으로, 고양꽃전시관 반대쪽 제2주차장 방면으로 수변정원, 세계작가정원 등이 숲과 어우러져 자리 잡았습니다. 이곳은 세계적으로 내놓아도 손색없는 공간으로, 숲의 규모는 작지만 꽤 높이 솟아있는 나무들과 호수 경관이 본 기자의 눈에는 너무나 아름답게 다가왔습니다.
지금은 박람회 기간이라 입장권을 구매한 관람객들이 전시된 정원과 어우러진 모습을 볼 수 있지만, 박람회 기간이 끝난 후에도 이곳은 도시 근교에서 보기 힘든 자연의 공간으로 작은 감동을 선사합니다.
두 번째로, 한울광장 근처에서 열리는 플라워 마켓은 아직 규모나 편의시설이 부족해 많은 이들이 느끼지 못했겠지만, 그 시도는 칭찬할 만하다고 생각됩니다. 관람객들이 두 전시 공간을 오가며 긴 동선을 쇼핑 또는 이벤트로 이어지게 하려면, 물건 보관소나 쉴 수 있는 공간 등 관람객의 편의를 좀 더 생각한다면 박람회가 축제로 이어 질 수 있는 중요한 공간이 될 수도 있을 것입니다.
여러 새로운 정원박람회와 공원이 생기는 가운데, 관람객들에게 신선하고 행복한 경험을 제공할 수 있는 꽃 박람회로 고양국제꽃박람회가 자리매김할 수 있기를 바랍니다.
